The Brandon and Julie Show – Episode 2

February 12, 2010

Hey kids, we’re back for episode two. Recorded Wednesday over a nice bottle of blanco, this podcast features some Atmosphere, Amy Winehouse, Yeasayer as always, Jose Gonzalez, and more! We got 24 plays last week, which we appreciate to the utmost. This week we’re going for 25, lets all try and make it happen.

Since our hosting service sucks we can only have one episode up for streaming at any given time. Never fear! You can get episode one here.

Until next week we are Brandon and Julie.

(Edit: our IT team somehow switched Junior Boys and Handsome Furs in the lineup. So, when Handsome Furs plays it’s supposed to be Junior Boys and vice versa. You get the point.)

Post Harbor – For Example This Is A Corpse

January 27, 2010

Here’s a band that doesn’t comb their hair.  Post Harbor is from Seattle, or records in Seattle, or something.  They make surprisingly listenable post rock/shoegazer/atmospheric indie type stuff.

Do you like Explosions In The Sky?  This is better because they sing sometimes.

Do you like Death Cab For Cutie?  This is better because they make more interesting sounds with instruments.

Do you like Mum?  This is better because they occasionally GO HARD.

I’d advise you to check it out.  Here’s a sample track called For Example This Is A Corpse.  If you can’t find a working album link on google send us an electronic mail and we can help you out.  Or you could, you know, buy it.
